Tony Blair will visit Nigeria and Kenya as part of AGI’s ongoing work in both countries.
In Kenya, Mr Blair will meet President Kenyatta to discuss efforts to drive delivery across government and improve the lives of ordinary Kenyans. The AGI team in Kenya works alongside the government to strengthen critical centre-of-government functions which hold the key to realising Kenya’s potential.
AGI’s team in Nigeria has meanwhile been focused on supporting small businesses by establishing the Development Bank of Nigeria which is set to provide loans to 200,000 small business owners in the next five years. Mr Blair will meet senior members of the newly appointed government to discuss AGI’s continued partnership with the Government of Nigeria. He is also expected to address a meeting of the State Governors.
AGI’s Managing Director Andy Ratcliffe said:
“It is an exciting time in Kenya and Nigeria. Both countries are achieving big economic and social progress, and, each has the potential to go even faster. I’m excited to see the impact AGI’s teams are having in two of Sub-Saharan Africa’s most strategically important countries.”
