Responding to recent media coverage of AGI our CEO, Nick Thompson, has said:
“An article published yesterday by The Sunday Times suggests AGI intends to ‘gather intelligence on Muslim communities in Africa’. This is completely erroneous and a gross misrepresentation. There is no such plan.
The discussion document referred to in the article was not commissioned or funded by AGI. Rather, as has been announced, the Trustees have taken the decision to wind down the charity in 2017 and for staff to transition into the newly created not-for-profit the Tony Blair Institute.
We are very grateful to our staff, government partners and supporters for their ongoing belief in the critical role of effective government in driving development, reducing poverty and changing lives for the better.”
