The head of AGI’s project in Guinea has been appointed Minister of Economy and Finance by the President of Guinea, Alpha Conde. Malado Kaba has been asked to serve in the new Government which has been announced following Mr Conde's victory in the recent elections.
Ms Kaba has worked for AGI in Guinea for almost two years in which time the AGI team worked alongside Government officials on the Ebola response and to complete work on the Kaleta Dam project which will double the country's energy supply in the coming years. She will now leave the AGI team in Guinea.
AGI's Chief Executive Nick Thompson said:
"We're delighted for Malado. As a Guinean we know how committed she is to her country and to working to improve the lives of Guineans. This appointment is the ultimate endorsement of her work for AGI and we look forward to seeing her make an even bigger difference as Minister of Economy and Finance."
